Brief Biography:

Pianist Sang Woo Kang has been described as “prodigiously talented” by the Los Angeles Times and praised for his “atmospheric and poetic renditions” by the New York Concert Review. Sang Woo has performed worldwide, with recent recitals in Korea, Japan, Thailand, Central and South America, and Europe. In addition, he directs the Piano Institute and Seminar at the Atlantic Music Festival over the summer and teaches master classes. He successfully balances his performing career as a solo, orchestral and chamber musician with teaching at Providence College, where he is Chair and Associate Professor of the Department of Music. Sang Woo is a graduate of Juilliard School and the Eastman School of Music, where he received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree. His recording of Mozart’s piano pieces, including never-performed fragments, was released in December 2014 on the Naxos Label. Scarlatti Sonata recording will be available early 2016 (Naxos). He has also recorded for the EMI-Korea label.
